Agege based football club, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club, MFM FC, will its first ever CAF Confederations Cup tie against Djoliba Athletic Club from Mali this weekend at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium, Lagos Mainland.
The tie which is a must win for the Olukoya Boys is the first leg of the playoffs of the CAF continental game after the team dropped from the Champions League to the lower league following its 7-2 aggregate loss to MC Alger of Algeria over two legs.
Commenting on the forthcoming match, the coach of the side, Fidelis Ilechukwu said: “We have to win convincingly on Sunday to give ourselves a good chance of qualifying for the group stages.”
He continued that: “The results have not been consistent but we are working hard to ensure that we don’t only win at home but also away as well. The game against MC Algers taught us so many lessons which will guide us into the group stages.
“Djoliba Athletic Club are a good side and I believe we can see them off to qualify for the group stages of the competition.”
Presently, MFM have won six games, lost six and drawn one in the ongoing NPFL season with all the wins coming from the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium.
