For those that have not visited Ikeja, Lagos Mainland in a while, the community will turn into a mecca tomorrow, Thursday, March 29, 2018, as the long-awaited Ikeja Bus terminal will be commissioned.
The terminal which is obviously one of a kind has been through different beautification processes since last year and is finally ready to be used by Mainlanders.
The terminal, located just behind the rail line of the Nigeria Railway Corporation and about 1km from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, is designed to change the face of public transportation and will convey more than 70,000 passengers daily to over 22 destinations across the State.
The bus terminal, an initiative of the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration in Lagos State, is one of 13 such terminals being constructed across the state in the first phase of the project being executed by Planet Projects.
The facility, which is sitting on 10,000 square metres land space is equipped with Intelligent Transport System (ITS), Fully Air-conditioned Terminal, Food Court, Shops, Toilets, ATM Gallery, Free Wi-Fi, Electronically Controlled shades, among others.
Through the ITS, intending passengers can be informed of the departure time and arrival of the next bus which allows them to plan their movement.
Buses to service the Terminal, which are reported to be part of the over 5,000 already acquired by Lagos State Government, have started arriving the country.
