There was tension in Alimosho community, a suburb of Lagos Mainland when operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) stormed a hotel located in the area yesterday, Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
The security operatives marched to a popular hotel in Akowonjo- Alimosho, De Santos Hotel to arrest an unidentified lady for reportedly stealing a wristwatch worth $1,200 from her male friend.
InsideMainland gathered that the suspect who resides in Abaranje community met her male friend on Facebook before they became close. She recently visited the male friend in his apartment after weeks of chatting where the alleged theft occurred.
In a footage shared on Twitter by @Jordanstyls, the officers prior to the arrest of the lady were heard ordering her to stand up from where she was seated adding that she has to follow them to the station. Also, the victim of the theft narrated briefly that the suspect was wearing the $1,200 wristwatch she stole from her at the time of her arrest.
The operatives were able to apprehend the suspect after she was invited to the pool side of the hotel by her male friend she allegedly stole from.
De Santos Hotel Reacts
Following the arrest of a lady at the lounge of the popular De Santos Hotel, Akonwonjo – Alimosho, Lagos Mainland, the management of the hotel has reacted to the viral video captured during the arrest.
In a series of tweets signed by the manager of the hotel, Tobe Ekeneme, he said: “Our attention has been drawn to the viral video on the arrest of two ladies at the poolside of De Santos Hotel Lagos. The ladies had no business with any of our in-house guests but were at the poolside having Cocktail drinks at the invitation of the man that had them arrested.”
He added that: “The management after being briefed on the situation alerted our armed mobile security officers to access the situation with the SARS operatives before the ladies were taken away.”
