Check out how Agboyi – Ketu council boss marked six months in office

The Executive Chairman of Agboyi – Ketu LCDA, Lagos Mainland, Mayor Dele Oshinowo has charged youths in his community to remain good ambassadors, just as he advised them to shun any form of social vices.

The council boss made the cheering remarks during an event which marked the celebration of his six months in office held at the council headquarters, Agboyi road, Alapere.

Oshinowo saluted residents and his administrative team said the saying their unwavering support throughout his assumption of office is second to none.

While assuring residents of the administration’s commitment to dot every nook and cranny with developmental projects, the council boss leveraged the program to reel out a comprehensive report of his stewardship so far.

Notably, Oshinowo identified the newly built ultra modern L-shaped two storey office complex, rehabilitated roads in Ile-ile, Ibefun Street, the Agboyi-Ketu Bursary Scheme, an awareness programme on Lassa fever, monkeypox and other communicable diseases. He gave other highlights as the launch of Agboyi-Ketu Waste Intervention Program, maiden Agboyi-Ketu Table Tennis Championship, Agboyi-Ketu Monthly Fitness Walk among other notable achievements.

In addition, the council boss awarded bursaries to students from the LCDA saying the scheme was aimed at opening a new paragraph in the educational life of the local council. “On our part, we will continue to create a success-platform to reward excellent students in their academic field, with a special emphasis on the indigent ones among them,” he said.

“Above all, I appeal to you to remain good ambassadors of your home, our communities, and our nation. Your sacrifice and pain in focusing on your studies when it matters now will surely help you to build your future and consolidate it with gainful opportunities. As you keep your legs on the track of success, please stay away from social vices; there is nothing to gain in it. Rather, I urge you to face your studies squarely,” he added.

Similarly, a board member, Lagos State Audit Commission, Hon Abiodun Akhigbe, who flagged off the presentation of cheques to the awardees appealed to the undergraduate students to remain committed to their educational pursuit.

Immediately after the disbursement of bursary funds to the beneficiaries, Hon. Oshinowo led a procession to the commissioning points of some projects by his administration.
