Council boss turns refuse collector in Ojokoro

In a bid to intensify efforts to put an end to indiscriminate dumping of refuse in Ojokoro community, Lagos Mainland, the Vice Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Sesan Sobande, has commenced the drive to ensure proper disposal of waste in the community.

The council head led the educational campaign to sensitize residents of the community on how to keep the environment clean and healthy as well as putting an end to dumping refuse in unauthorized places.

Speaking during the awareness drive, Hon. Sobande appealed to residents to support government efforts by packing and putting their refuse in an appropriate manner adding that the refuse collectors would visit their homes to pick the refuse.

During the campaign, the council team alongside residents cleaned communities such as Ijaiye, Kola among others in Ojokoro Community.

The council team also ensured heaps of refuse in the area were properly packed in a central location to allow waste managers pick them with ease when collection exercise commences in the community.
