Please, shut down this Big Brother Naija show – #DukeOfSomolu

I think this franchise has outlived its usefulness and purposes. Its assault on our sensibilities continues unabated without any controls or regulations. The promoters may have sent our regulators and indeed the public a portion of sleep-inducing or mind-numbing drugs to make us all turn our backs to it’s continued degradation of our dignities and the whoring of our youths.

Daily posts hit me ever so regularly. Either somebody is baring her privates or asking the other person to touch it. In their drunken stupor, they cavort across the screen like useless sailors, singing dirty songs and generally behaving in very bad manner.

The other day, I stumbled on the so-called in-house party and all I could see was baseless hedonistic pleasure. The only thing missing was smoking; every other thing was in full glare. Erotic cavorting, abuse of alcohol and the brand image of the firm supplying the alcohol beverage was conspicuously displayed all over the House.

Now I beat my head daily thinking of what direct positive effect this rubbish House have on society and our youths apart from providing a platform for the rehashing of violent sexual fantasies of some men of power who can’t either by their standing in society or any other reason of limitation cannot in themselves publicly eschew such grandiosity in sexual pervasion. They now encourage our youths to continue to display such dastard acts while still making loads of money off them.

The program should be shut down if we all have any sense of decency and I wonder why if not for the mileage or money otherwise respectful brands would now continue to commit to such a hellish platform.

I have said my own and I have moved on. It is really up to the authorities to take a cue from this or to look at the other side while our kids continue to be serially raped by the Producers of this useless construct.

Thank you.
