The newly inaugurated executives of the Association of Practitioners of Community Media in Nigeria (APCOM) has continued the efforts towards the propagation of the association formed specifically to improve the standards of community media practice in Nigeria.
Recall that the association was officially unveiled to the members of the public in Ilupeju community, Lagos Mainland today, Friday, January 26, 2018.
Speaking during a recent interview on Television Continental, TVC, the Vice President of the Association, Mr. Odion Aleobua said the body is challenged to become of a voice for community media practitioners and the people they report.
He added that another critical goal of the Association is to “develop practice of the community media profession whilst coordinating its professional practice by widespread dissemination of those principles to practitioners across the hills and dales of Nigeria.”
Aleobua added that professionals in different fields of study have reached out to the executives indicating their interests in becoming a member of the Association.
