The heart of man they say is wicked. This saying best describes the recent happenings in Mushin community, Lagos Mainland, as information reaching InsideMainland has it that a palm oil adulterating syndicate now runs their business without hitch in the area.
According to a resident of Mushin community, Olanrewaju Shadiya, the syndicate committing the disturbing act operates at the popular Daleko Market, Mushin, Lagos Mainland.
In his tirade via his Twitter handle, Lanre said: “The men operating this outfit allegedly dilute palm oil with other liquids and add colouring to it. They sell to unsuspecting customers thereby causing health hazard to buyers from across the state.”
He added that the perpetrators of the act have “been reported to the area police but always bribe their way out and return to the deadly act.”
While urging the Police operatives of the Lagos State Police Command to promptly arrest those involved in the crime, residents of the area also called on officials of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to act on the situation.
The situation has however led to several reactions on social media. In addition, a resident of the community to disclosed that: “We no longer have confidence in the area police. Lagosians are at risk of losing their lives to this dastardly act. Enough please.”
