Following months of hardship in plying the dilapidated Ikorodu – Shagamu road by residents of Ikorodu community, Lagos Mainland, recent efforts by community leaders and government officials from Ikorodu Constituency has returned smiles to the faces of the troubled residents.
This is because ahead of the planned reconstruction of the road, the Lagos State government has commenced palliative repair of the road to ensure easy access by residents and motorists who ply the axis.
InsideMainland gathered that the repair was facilitated by the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, who also represents the Ikorodu Constituency I in the Assembly.
The development has since drawn wide applause from residents of the communities affected by the decrepit state of the road.
A resident who spoke to InsideMainland said: “Workers are presently on the road grading and filling some affected sections of the road. The engineers brought stones and granite to the road earlier today and they are still working there.”
