More knocks than kudos for Olamide as he stages #OLIC4 in Lagos – See why here

Few days ago, talks of attending the highly anticipated 2017 edition of the annual music fiesta ‘Olamide Live In Concert’ also known as OLIC which is put together by multi award winning indigenous rapper, Olamide, dominated the media space.

The event in its fourth edition is scheduled to hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos Mainland, and it has drawn support from the Akinwunmi Ambode led Lagos State Government as well as other leading brands across the state.

Meanwhile, while a host of music enthusiasts look forward to attending the event following the promises of a musical master class by Olamide and a host of other superstars lined up to perform at the event, Mainlanders and proponents of the viral #ENDSars campaign against the brutality by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) have come hard on the music act.

The criticisms on Olamide stemmed from his alleged decision to invite a SARS operative known as Yomi SARS to perform live on stage during the event.

According to the visibly angry fans, Olamide is “playing ignorance to the complaints of fans nationwide for indirectly supporting the rogues called SARS by inviting Yomi SARS to perform on stage.”

A fan of the rapper, @AllBoyz tweeted his anger saying: “Olamides management should have looked into this Yomi SARS matter first. His fans, audience, the reception.. but then, yomi SARS the artiste not the officer, maybe olamide helping a brother rise in the industry.. but then again, the timing!”
