At the just concluded 2017 Lagos State Community Day grand finale which held yesterday, December 7, 2017, at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, various community development associations were awarded by the government for contributions towards developing their communities.
The awards were based on performances and level of present development across the communities.
At the event, cash gifts were handed to the CDAs for their performance in their areas while some others received vehicles.
The Covenant Phase1 Community Development Association, Ikorodu North, Lagos Mainland, outshined other CDAs as they emerged the overall winner at the event.
The CDA was awarded for the construction of a Healthcare center with quality facilities for use by residents of their community. The group also drilled a bore hole and constructed five drainages within the community.
While presenting the gift to the CDA group, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode urged other CDAs groups to do better come next time as he promises that the gifts will be better next year.
The association joyfully received the gift and thanked the government for the support and encouragement given to the group.
