In the aftermath of the total blackout that recently rocked Maryland, Ikeja GRA, Ogudu and other parts of Lagos Mainland and the eventual fix of the issue, power distribution company, Ikeja Electric Plc. has assured residents in the affected areas who are yet to get power supply that it would be fixed soon.
Recall that InsideMainland reported the proposed seven days blackout that continued for another three days which left the aforementioned areas in darkness.
While power was restored to some of the areas during the weekend, some other communities were yet to get fixed.
As a result, a concerned resident identified simply as Tope took to social networking site, Twitter to query the power company. According to him: “This is now day what and still counting? The customer service/communication on this issue has been very poor and disappointing. There is no schedule and no meaningful situation update. They expect us to just watch and pray, maybe fast too?”
In a direct response, the Ikeja Electric Plc. team apologized for the situation adding that the communities in darkness were affected by a technical issue.
“Hello, we apologise for the situation. The upgrade of the substation has been concluded but there is a slight technical issue with 4 of the 9 feeders that were affected. We’re working on it assiduously & power should be restored today,” the power company said.
