UPDATE: Finally, power returns to Mende, Anthony, Ogudu, other communities

Exactly ten days after the entire Mende, Ogudu, Anthony, Ketu, Ikeja GRA and Ojota communities on the Lagos Mainland were thrown into total darkness, power distribution company, Ikeja Electric Plc. has restored power supply to the areas.

Recall that the power distribution company, earlier announced the plan rehabilitate the Maryland Injection Substation which included the replacement of obsolete Switch Gear Panels at the Switch Room.

The project was originally scheduled to be completed between Friday, November 3, 2017 and Friday, November 10, 2017. Meanwhile, the blackout lasted for more that the specified duration with residents of the affected communities airing their dissatisfaction at intervals.

However, power supply was restored to these aforementioned areas on the Lagos Mainland yesterday, Sunday, November 12, 2017, much to the delight of the residents.
