There is currently tension at the Iyana – Iba end of Lagos Mainland as hundreds of commercial motorcycle riders also known as Okada riders barricaded the streets including the major road leading to the Badagry end of the state.
InsideMainland gathered that the protest was as a result of the continuous arrest and seizures of their motorcycles by men of the Lagos State Taskforce.
Sources also told InsideMainland that the protesting riders made bonfires across different parts of the usually busy expressway while also complaining bitterly about the harassment from the law enforcement agency.
Presently, human and vehicular movement around the axis has been disrupted as motorists lying the route are currently held in the chaos.
InsideMainland learnt that the main gate of the Lagos State University (LASU) is a no go area as a result of the ongoing protest.
Recall that InsideMainland earlier reported the raid by the Taskforce officials along the Ogba and Haruna ends of Ojodu. At the time, the raid was the third in two weeks by the Taskforce officials.
