As Lagos State is set to host the West Africa Junior Swimming Championships, the National Stadium swimming pool has worn a new face as the competition is scheduled to hold between Friday, 27 till Sunday, 29 October 2017.
The swimming pool which was said to be abandoned and redundant for over eighteen years has been refurbished by the Lagos State government, the facilities were upgraded and the tiles was also replaced with new, the press gallery was renovated while spectators’ stands are being painted to ensure a successful event and for subsequent use.
Countries that make up West and Central Africa include Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Togo and Guinea. Others include Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Benin, Niger and Equatorial Guinea. Others expected include Gambia, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville and Mali.
