Wrestling champion, Power Uti detained at Ilupeju Police station over wife’s death

Popular Nigerian wrestling champion, Power Uti has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command over the mysterious death of his late wife Toyin.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Famous Cole, confirmed that Power Uti, has been remanded at the Ilupeju Police station and would later be transferred to the Criminal Investigative Department, Panti, Lagos Mainland today.

Toyin, a 38 year old mother of four, who are all under the ages of nine, was said to have been discovered dead by her husband, Power Uti, who instead of taking her to the hospital, took her to a church to seek spiritual help.

The incident took place at their home in the area of Ilupeju, Lagos Mainland on Monday, October 9, 2017. The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Isolo general hospital, while her four children have been placed under the care of a family member.

Toyin was married to her husband for 10 years till she passed away, the cause of her death is still unknown.
