Ikeja LGA Chairman disburses free books to students

The Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Lagos Mainland, Hon. Mojeed Alabi Balogun on Friday, 22 September, 2017 put smiles on the faces of primary and junior secondary school students in Ikeja by distributing free exercise books to encourage and boost education at the grassroots.

While addressing people at the event, the LGA boss said the idea was basically to bring governance closer to the people and to ultimately relieve parents from the burden of having to purchase academic materials.

He added that one of his campaign promises was to ensure education is prioritized by his administration, which is also in line with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s vision to sustain a high standard of education which can compete with private schools, home and abroad.

The event was graced by political stakeholders, CDC Chairman of Ikeja LG, Alhaji Osinberu Sillukaleem; State Chairman, APC Lagos West, Chief Funsho Olugunde; Education Secretary, Ikeja LGA, Alhaja Risikat Bolanle Shittu; and Regent to the stool of Olu of Ikeja Land, Prince Adekunle Isiaka Apina among many others.
