Aguda, Ogba residents storm Ikeja Electric office in protest

Residents of Oke-Ira, Aguda and Ogba communities staged a protest march to the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company office yesterday, Thursday, September 28, 2017.

The residents stormed the office of the power distribution company in protest of the crazy electricity bills served to the communities.

According to the leader of the protest, Mr. Olayinka Fadahunsi, “residents have had issues with Ikeja Electric for more than two months. They usually bring crazy and ridiculous charges to households in the area.”

“We have made several complaints but nothing was done on the matter. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. It is time for Ikeja Electric management to put a stop to these crazy bills.”

The protesters also stressed that some of the consumers who earlier visited Ikeja Electric office were harassed by security officers who work for the company.

They, however, noted that they will stage another massive protest of their demands are not attended to by the management of the power distribution company.
