Lagos State school teachers get rewarded with brand new cars


They say that a teacher’s reward is in heaven, However, the Lagos State government on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 proved this statement wrong by rewarding diligent and hardworking primary school teachers with brand new cars for their service to the state and country at large.

At the Award ceremony, the Head Teacher of Christ Assembly Nursery/Primary School, Araromi, Yakubu Tajudeen Adebayo, was awarded the Best Primary School Head Teacher, while, Ibrahim Ismaila Abiodun of Alaba Primary School, Mushin, Lagos won the award of Best Primary School Teacher.

A branded Hyundai Salon car was presented to the Best Teacher, Ibrahim Ismaila Abiodun while the Best Headteacher, Yakubu Tajudeen Adebayo went home with a Toyota Camry car.

Executive Chairman, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Ganiyu Oluremi Sopeyin, during the presentation stated that the school teachers’ dedication and determination to duty deserves commendation as they are the reason for the achievements recorded over the years. Adding that through various developmental training and ability building, the Board has re-envisioned her staff knowledge.

He also assured the attendees that SUBEB would at all times articulate the requests of the primary schools teachers in the state with a view of improving their welfare.

Mrs. Adeola Rotinwa who represented the wife of Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode in her speech described the award ceremony as a platform that is key to the development of every organisation explaining that awards promote healthy competition within the work environment and ultimately leads to higher productivity.

She commended Dr. Sopeyin, Board Members and Management for navigating the ship of basic education in the State smoothly.
