There was apprehension in the usually busy Sabo – Yaba end of Lagos earlier today, Thursday, September 28, 2017, after students of the Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) stormed the Sabo Police Division in protest for one of the most bizarre reasons.
InsideMainland gathered that a final year student of the institution, Hassan Suleiman from the department of Accountancy, got the shock of his life when he lost his manhood after handing a beggar money in Fadeyi, Lagos Mainland.
When information got to his colleagues in school, the students rushed to join him at the scene where the suspect was arrested and taken to the Sabo Police Division, Yaba. Hassan’s colleagues then marched in numbers to the Police station demanding jungle justice on the suspect.
A student of the institution who preferred anonymity told InsideMainland that: “Hassan was coming to school for lectures in the morning when the incident happened. He told us he gave money to a beggar in front of First Bank outlet in Fadeyi and he immediately called for help when he noticed a strange feeling.
“He gathered himself and quickly raised an alarm before people rushed to help him. His screams led to the arrest of the suspect before we were informed of what is happening and then rushed to the scene.
“The beggar was arrested by people around but the intervention of the Police prevented a mob action.”
When news of the event got to the school authorities, Hassan’s course mates, the school’s Dean of Students Affairs and Director of Medicals joined the protesting students at the Sabo Police Division.
Presently, InsideMainland gathered from sources at the Police Division that the victim has lost consciousness while his course mates demand justice on his behalf.
