About 200 residents of Alimosho in the Lagos Mainland area of Lagos State have a reason to rejoice following the facilitation of a five – day free surgical operation for those living with different health conditions and cannot afford the bills in the area.
The healthcare programme, organized under the aegis of Prince of Hope Turns to Reality Foundation put together by the lawmaker representing Alimosho Constituency 1, Hon. Bisi Yusuff, was flagged off few days ago and will end on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Speaking on the programme, the lawmaker said started the project before he became a lawmaker adding that he established five public health centers as the Chairman of Ayobo Ipaja council development area.
“I save money to save lives. I think this is the only way I can be counted as those people who have added value to the existence of human being,” he said.
In addition, the lawmaker noted that the healthcare programme involved thirty surgeons with the beneficiaries drawn from different parts of the constituency.
In his remarks, the leader of the medical team, Dr Samson Oladokun noted that the surgeons are fully on ground especially those from those from the United States of America to work on the patients. He added that upon completion of the exercise, persons with complaints can contact medical personnels at the Ipaja Health Centre or Ipaja Health Centre for help.
Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Adenike whose children have abnormal features said she was earlier billed the sum of Two Million Naira for surgery on the twins in a private hospital. She disclosed that she was unable to foot bill but felt joyous when she was invited to benefit from the healthcare programme organized by the lawmaker.
She further noted that the lawmaker has offered to help foot the medical bill for the twins adding that she hopes for a successful surgery. Other beneficiaries are Mr. Bolahan Oyekun, Mrs. Nike Babalola and Mr. Afizz Onilude.
