Ikeja, Badagry, Magodo, Iju & more to wear new look; See why

Dilapidated roads in areas such as Ikeja, Badagry, Iju, Ifako, Magodo and more is set to get government attention as the Lagos State Government through the Public Works Corporation has begun massive rehabilitation of dilapidated roads across the State.

The Special Adviser Public Works and Drainages, Engr. Temidayo Erinle, who made the disclosure said the corporation had a very long list of roads to rehabilitate and in the last few weeks flagged off with operation fix all pot-holes on the major high-ways of the state.

According to Erinle, “we have began to fix all the pot-holes in the Lagos metropolis and since the weather is a bit friendly, we decided to concentrate more on the major High-ways so that vehicular traffic will be eased- off.”

He added that the state governor had directed that Lagos roads must be rid-off of pot-holes and the mandate would be carried out holistically.

“In the last two weeks, we have began the milling and relaying of Asphalt Premix on the Ojota-Ketu interchange while paving stones were laid on sections of roads liable to flooding along Ketu Inter-change to Ojota adding that drainage canal at Adebimpe street, Ketu has just been cleared to address the problem of flooding in that area,” Erinle said.

“Similarly, the Corporation has almost completed the laying of paving stones on Water Corporation Road (Trinity Avenue) Off Ligali Ayorinde, Victoria Island at Eti-Osa, while palliative works have also been carried out on Lagos-Badagry Expressway, (Agbara inward Aradagun) in Ojo Local Government,” he added.

Erinle assured residents that the corporation would not leave any stone unturned to ensure that the Governor’s directive is carried out to achieve a pot-hole free Lagos.

While urging residents to remain calm for the corporation to deliver on the roads, Erinle said other roads the corporation is presently working on include: Hakeen Balogun road in Ikeja, Akowonjo road in Alimosho, Adekunle Banjo in Magodo Phase II, and Sina Ogunbanwo in Ifako-Ijaye.

He gave others as Ipaja road, Alagba, Agege, Obafemi Awolowo way, Ikeja, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway (Abule Egba inward Alakuko), Ikorodu road, Iju road, Lagos-Badagry Expressway (Agbara to Igbo-Elerin), Oba Akran, Ikeja, Lagos Mainland among others.
