#MorningUpdate: Going out? Stay off Ojuelegba; see other places to avoid

Motorists and commuters who may be going out of the Lagos Mainland should take this advance traffic warning very seriously as activities of tanker drivers heading to the Apapa jetty have resulted into a heavy traffic gridlock in these axes;

Ikorodu Road inwards Ojuelegba

Ojuelegba inwards Barracks/Stadium

Stadium inwards Eko Bridge

Iponri/Costain inwards Apapa

Apapa is completely a no-go area.

Presently, motorists are completely trapped in the traffic gridlock along Barracks through Stadium. Also, the traffic gridlock has extended through the stretch to Costain, a usually busy bus stop during the rush hours on the Lagos Mainland.

As a result of the traffic situation, InsideMainland is advising motorists who are going out of the Lagos Mainland to use alternative routes such as Herbert Macaulay via Tejuosho to Murtala Road, Yaba/Oyingbo/Adekunle route, or the Ogudu/Oworonshoki/Third Mainland route to access their destinations.

While the management of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) stress that its officials are on top of the situation, visibly angry motorists who are stuck in the traffic have taken to their various social media pages to vent their anger.

InsideMainland correspondents will be monitoring the traffic situation to give adequate updates to assist Lagos Mainland motorists in navigating Ikorodu road.
