In anticipation of the construction works on the proposed Agege – Pen Cinema Bridge taking full gear, the chairman of Agege LG, Hon. Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi has charged traders to vacate the possible alternative routes to ease traffic congestion in the course of the construction.
Hon. Egunjobi made the appeal during a sensitization exercise in the aftermath of the recent Stakeholders’ meeting held between Lagos State Government, Agege LG and Orile Agege LCDA administrators respectively.
The proposed alternative routes which include Oniwaya Road, Desalu Street, Kasumu Street, Market Street, Capitol Road, and Awori Street among others have been hubs for traders and artisans most especially auto mechanics.
As a result, Hon. Egunjobi and his team visited the aforementioned areas to admonish the artisans, market men and women to retrieve their wares from the roadside. The council boss urged the traders to carry out all trading activities inside the various designated markets within the community.
In addition, Hon. Egunjobi urged the traders to cooperate with the government adding that the proposed Pen Cinema Bridge, when completed would bring about economic boom and improved standard of living to the people.
He stressed that vehicle owners operative within the axis should endeavour to park their buses at designated areas to ease the flow of traffic.
