Here’s how NSCDC plans to join Police to curb ritual killings in Ikorodu

Days after the announcement and resumption of office of Mr. Imohimi Edgal as the new Police Commissioner in Lagos State, the Lagos Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Tajudeen Balogun has pledged his support to the new Police chief to curb crimes in the State.

The NSCDC commandant made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the police boss in his office at the Lagos Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos.

In a statement sent to InsideMainland, Tajudeen disclosed that the agency is very much ready to work with the Police force in order to combat crime within the state.

“Because of the fact that the security situation in Lagos is huge and needs intelligence led policing to curb, we will not hesitate to give any kind of support as requested by the police force to battle crime in the state, also in the area of any symbiotic relationship the police force should be willing to call on us and I promise we will not hesitate to respond swiftly,” the NSCDC commandant said.

Commenting on the incessant ritual killings and cultism in Ikorodu, the NSCDC boss revealed that his agency and the Police alongside other security agencies have paid the ultimate price while trying to curb criminal acts. He stressed that there will be no relenting in the war against crime in the community.

In his remarks during the visit, the CP said, “As security agency we don’t gain mileage in securing lives and property unless we partner with other agencies with the same mission, more reasons why the police force will always want to share intelligence with the NSCDC anytime”.

The Police chief added that he is set to make every Lagosian feel safe adding that: “Partnership is always the key to community policing and the police is ever ready to partner with other formal and informal security agencies most especially for intelligent policing”.
