After years of neglect, Ikorodu – Sagamu road finally set for repair

After decades of neglect by the Federal Government, residents, motorists and other commuters who ply the decrepit Ikorodu – Sagamu road have a reason to heave a sigh of relief as the road is finally set for rehabilitation.

Months after the Ikorodu lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson, announced that the road construction will be captured in the 2017 Budget of the Federal Government, the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing through the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), has opened application for Tender for the general maintenance/repairs of some Federal Roads in the country with the Ikorodu – Sagamu road captured in the notice.

Similarly, the Ikorodu-Itoikin road was also included in the notice of application with interested contractors expected to submit bids for the project.

Making the announcement of the call for Tender, Hon. Benson said “I look forward the expeditious commencement of the rehabilitation works so as to ease the untold daily hardship many have to endure while making use of the roads.”

Recall that residents and commuters alike have decried the sorry state of Ikorodu – Sagamu road which is used by thousands of individuals who ply the route regularly.

As part of the commencement of the project, interested contractors are advised to pick up the bid form at the accounts office, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Abuja.
