In line with the activities of the Lagos State Government to ensure a hygienic environment through the Cleaner Lagos Initiative (CLI), the newly elected chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Afolabi Sofola has declared’Operation clear dark spots’ in the local government.
The council boss flanked by members of his executive team visited Ifako – Gbagada community on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, where he supervised the clearing of dump sites near Jesus Street along Bode Joseph in Ifako.
According to Hon. Sofola, the effort is part of the plans towards achieving a cleaner and healthy environment for residents of the area.
Hon. Sofola who charged the residents to inculcate the spirit of cleanliness said “we need to consider waste management in the area to prevent being affected by the dangerous smell which is unhealthy for everyone.”
“Once children start inhaling bad smells, it is a big problem.”
In addition, the council boss urged the residents to be conscious of their immediate environment following the recent case of Lassa fever in the State.
