Lagos lawmaker condemns jungle justice

Following the increase in spate of jungle justice in the State, a member of Lagos State Lawmaker representing Ifako Ijaiye Constituency II, Hon. Rasheed Makinde has urged Lagosians to shun jungle justice.

According to him, the act of jungle justice hinders proper investigation.

“The tense environment we have today where everybody is living in fear is understandable couple with the fact that security personnel are very limited to the number of people living in Lagos State that is the challenge,” he said.

He continued saying “the Lagos State Government is already doing something about it. The Lagos Neighbourhood Watch recently established is one way out and recruitment process is ongoing.

“The essence of the neighbourhood watch is majorly to gather intelligence for the other security personnel to work with for a well secured environment. We should avoid engaging in jungle justice.”
