Tension as Badoo gang hacks family of five to death in Ibeshe – Ikorodu

While residents of Ikorodu community and other neighbouring communities rejoice about the stop in the activities of the notorious cult group otherwise known as Badoo in the area, little did they know the gang were hatching plans of another deadly attack.

Residents of Oke – Ota in Ibeshe community were left in a restive mood following the killing of an entire family by the deadly cult group.

In the early hours of Sunday, July 30, 2017, residents of the area discovered the remains of five members of a family after they were hacked to death by the gang who broke into their home.

It was learnt that the gang committed the act in the night on Saturday, July 29, 2017, before the residents discovered their bodies the next day.

Speaking to InsideMainland, a member of the Onyabo Vigilante group who confirmed the incident said entire vigilance team were left in shock after news of the killings reached them.

“We received the sad news about the death of an entire family murdered in their sleep by the Badoo group with a heavy heart. Everyone in Ikorodu had peace after the evil doers were chased out of the town, but little did we know they will return.

“We will continue to do our best to ensure the actions of the ritualist group is brought to an end in the community for residents to have peace of mind,” he said.

The source however said the report of the killing has been brought to the attention of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, who said investigation will commence on the killings immediately.

Meanwhile, InsideMainland exclusively gathered that the members of the notorious ritualist group stormed Olu – Odo community in Ikorodu penultimate week. The assailants however ran for dear after residents in the community who kept vigil noticed their presence in the area.

A resident who spoke to our correspondent said “members of the Badoo gang came to our area in Olu – Odo on Friday. They almost gained access into an apartment but for the intervention of residents who kept watch alongside night guards.

“When they noticed the guys were around, one of the residents raised an alarm. He couldn’t face them alone so he waited for others to join. Before support could get to him, the guys had escaped.”

Recall that residents across Ikorodu community resorted to joining forces with vigilance groups and other security operatives to keep watch in their areas following the incessant killings by the ritualist gang.
