Okada rider reportedly tortured to death by Policemen in Mushin

A motorcycle rider, Ibrahim Kosoko, has been reportedly killed after he was allegedly tortured by some policemen attached to the Area D Police Command, Mushin, Lagos State.

Punch reported that the 41-year – old victim was among nine suspects picked up by security operatives during a raid on a shopping complex at Rainbow bus – stop, Agege – Motor Road, Mushin.

Ibrahim was allegedly detained after being interrogated for the whereabouts of one Ilesanmi, who was alleged to be among the masterminds of the mayhem that rocked Idi – Oro area of the state sometime in April 2017.

The victim passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, exactly three days after he was released from detention. The deceased’s family revealed that he died as a result of injuries he sustained from the torture he received from Policemen during interrogation.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, however denied the allegation of torture saying, “The Area Commander said there was no torture and that the suspects arrested were suspected to be part of the Idi -Oro mayhem. As a result, they were questioned and interviewed and it was discovered they had no specific place of abode. A senior officer came for the bail of three of them, including the man in question. He was not tortured or assaulted.”
