A 20 year old applicant, Mukaila Nurudeen, has been granted N500,000 bail by Ikeja Magistrate Court for his alleged involvement in the gang rape of a teenager. The accused, who resides at Oshodi, a suburb of Lagos, is standing trial for conspiracy and rape.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Rapheal Donny, told the court that the offence was committed on June 13, 2017, at Church St., Oshodi, Lagos. He said that the accused and one other at large lured the 15-year-old girl into the accused’s house where they gang raped her.
He said that matter was reported to the Police by the victim’s mother. While Nurudeen was arrested, his accomplice escaped.
Nurudeen pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Folakemi Davies-Abegunde, granted the bail, ordered the accused to produce two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until July 21, 2017.
