Three women who use their compound for sale & use of cannabis arrested in Badagry

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Badagry have arrested three women for allegedly using their compounds as hideouts for the sale and smoking of cannabis to members of the community .

It was learnt that the suspects- Adesola Kolawole, 30; Sade Oyewale, 44; and 36 year old Kadijat Mojeet were found with about four kilogrammes of cannabis in their hideouts. The arrests were made following complaints from the residents in the community , who raised alarm that the suspects were constituting a nuisance in the area

While confessing to their crime, Adesola, who is married with two children , said she used the proceeds for the upkeep of her family. “I am from Ekiti State and I have been selling the mixture for over a year. I earn an average of N5,000 daily, which I use to sustain my family”, Adesola said.

Also Sade, a native of Osun State and Mojeet, who have four children respectively, were also said to have confessed to the crime.

The NDLEA chairman , Col Muhammad Abdallah(rted) confirmed the incident, saying the women were supposed to be role models to their children and the society, adding that they will be prosecuted to deter others from getting involved in drug trafficking.
