Friends and families of the four students of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCED) who were injured in a road accident which occurred on Monday, June 12, 207, have appealed to the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for financial help on their medical expenses.
The injured students – Adetola Ayantuga, Olalekan Ashimi, Tunde Odusanya, Saheed Ogunbowale and Adewale Adetimehin – in company with 12 other colleagues and their union leaders were on their way to a programme following an invite by the Office of Civic Engagement, the agency which is under the supervision of the Deputy Governor of Lagos before the tragedy struck, Punch reports.
Speaking on the incident, the Lagos State Chairman of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Samson Adewale, said the injured students suffered injuries including broken legs, slit throat, fractured limbs and skull.
Furthermore, he disclosed that the injured students have a financial challenge to run tests, scans and X-rays. He however appealed to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to come to their aid to save the victims.
Recall that the fur students were injured in a road accident that occurred on Monday, June 12, 2017, after their bus rammed into a stationary waste disposal truck along Lasu- Igando road.
