Amuwo Odofin LG office razed after APC primaries – See photos

In the aftermath of the events that occurred during the botched Unified Chairmanship Primaries by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, May 27, 2017, hoodlums in Amuwo Odofin community allegedly set ablaze the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Secretariat with parts of the office razed.

According to a report by FestacOnline, the fire incident occurred at around 1:30 am on Sunday, May 28, 2017, while residents were fast asleep.

With the day being a weekend, residents who share buildings and other structures close to the Local Government office immediately alerted fire fighters who put out the fire with the help of concerned residents.

The affected part of the council building houses the Information office, LG Media department, Council manager’s office, the Chieftaincy unit and office of the DSS in the local government as well as the present sole administration office, FestacOnline reports.

It was however gathered that the fire incident is connection with the emergence of Comrade Valentine Buraimoh as candidate of the APC for the forthcoming local government elections in Amuwo Odofin.

Buraimoh who was former Supervisor for Works in the council is the alleged anointed candidate of former Chairman of the local government Comrade Ayodele Adewale who is known to be a loyalist of influential personalities in the APC.

Unconfirmed reports claims angry youths who were not in support of the process that produced Valentine Buraimoh as the party representative were involved in the fire incident that rocked the Local government.
