MFM FC duo, Stephen Odey and Sikiru Olatubosun get Super Eagles Call-up

There is jubilation in the camp of Lagos based side, Mountain if Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club, MFM FC, after two of its players were invited to camp of the Nigerian National side, the Super Eagles.

The duo of Stephen Odey and Sikiru Olatubosun have been invited alongside 22 other top players by the Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr. The attackers would join players such as Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, and others in camp of the Super Eagles for an international friendly match.

You would recall that Rohr watch MFM FC play in front of their darling fans during a recent league encounter at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium, Lagos. It is believed that the performances of the players prompted their call-up into the National side by the tactician.

The planned camping programme in France is ahead of the friendly match against the Corsica Senior National Team later this month.

The three-time African champions will open camp in Corsica on May 24, 2017, and then play against the Corsica Senior team two days later, before moving camp to Paris, France for the second phase of the camping programme ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to play South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

England –based duo Ola Aina (Chelsea FC) and Alex Iwobi (Arsenal FC) have been granted permission to feature for their respective clubs in the English FA Cup final on May 27, 2017, before joining the squad in Paris.
