Residents of Bariga – Ilaje community in Lagos have a reason to heave a sigh of relief after Governor Akinwunmi Ambode directed that contractors should commence the construction of the popular Ilaje road and Odunsi Street.
Ambode gave the directive during an extensive inspection tour of roads in the area yesterday, Monday, April 24, 2017.
While giving the instruction, Ambode said “we have already awarded contracts for Ariyo Road that will go under the Third Mainland Bridge after Bertola and connect the other side of Oworonshoki. We should be able to work and live in Bariga.”
The Governor assured residents that the construction work would commence in two weeks adding that no community would be left behind in his administration’s development agenda in the State.
While acknowledging that the people of the area have been very supportive to the government, Ambode urged the residents to continue to pay taxes and embrace peace to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
You would recall that InsideMainland earlier reported the deplorable state of roads in Ilaje and other areas of Bariga LCDA in the past.
