Flood Prevention: Agege LG takes bold step

As a result of the damage caused to the community by lack of proper drainage channels during heavy rainfall, the officials of Agege Local Government have taken a giant step towards preventing the menace.

Earlier today, the LG officials were at Oke Koto, along Capitol Road Agege, clearing drainage channels as well as the blocked ones.

During the cleaning, the officers were pictured clearing a canal already blocked with pet bottles, polythene bags, and other forms of dirt to ensure free flow of water in the axis.

Also, there was a waiting waste truck that immediately conveyed the waste away from the area upon clearing by the LG officials.

You would recall that parts of Lagos had witnessed heavy flooding due to blocked canals and drainages in the past.

This move by the Agege LG officials is however a bold one to quickly prevent the loss of properties and other damages that might occur in event of flooding.
