There are reports that Chief Emmanuel Nwankwo, the chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Iba Town and chairmanship aspirant in Ojo Local Government has died.
The Anambra State-born politician died barely ten minutes after returning from a PDP meeting held at the Lagos Secretariat. According to PM news, he reportedly started vomiting blood and was later rushed to a hospital in Ojo where he eventually died.
Mixed reactions have trailed the chairman’s death as the residents and party members were into a state confusion. Some are claiming that he might have been poisoned due to the party leadership crisis in the area
P.M.EXPRESS reported that there has been leadership tussle among the PDP members in Iba town between the Igbo and other ethnic groups in the area. it was however resolved with the late Nwankwo emerging as the party leader in the area.
Nwankwo, popularly known as Guilder, was hoping to be the party aspirant before this incident happened.
Meanwhile, his corpse has been taken down to his hometown and deposited at a mortuary
