50 beneficiaries handed work tools in Hon. Gbajabiamila’s empowerment initiative

Fifty residents of Surulere were on Monday, April 10, 2017, presented certificates and equipment after completion of their training on installation and maintenance of Close Circuit TV (CCTV) cameras in the constituency.

The training put together by Leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, we gathered commenced few weeks ago and put the beneficiaries through the rudiments of CCTV installation and its proper maintenance in full scale.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Gbajabiamila disclosed that the initiative is part of his contributions towards building human capacity and empowering youths in his community.

In his words, “this is a knowledge-based empowerment programme. I believe more in this because when somebody has the right skills and knowledge, he can continue to make a living out of it forever.”

“That is the idea with this CCTV training. Beneficiaries can work anywhere in the world because it is the same process,’’ he added.

In his remarks, the Sole Administrator of Surulere Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Balogun urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the initiative to better their lives.

“This is a programme that would go a long way in solving the problem of unemployment in Surulere. We need to give our support and also help the beneficiaries in areas of getting clients who will pay for their services,” he said.
