Nollywood actor, Kunle Afolayan gets Lagos State appointment

Like a couple of other Nollywood celebrities who have in one time or the other served in a capacity for the government, Nollywood actor cum filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan has joined the growing list of popular stars who have notched a government appointment.

The prolific director has been appointed to serve as a member of the Board of the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture.

Afolayan’s appointment was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello.

“In approving your appointment, due cognizance has been taken of your integrity, selfless service and past records of impressive performance,” part of the statement reads.

Speaking on his appointment, Kunle Afolayan, said “it is my pleasure to serve my people and I am pleased to work for the State.”

The appointment of the movie director was effective from March 6, 2017.

Meanwhile, Kunle Afolayan and his team, Golden Effects Pictures, just wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming slapstick entitled ‘Omugwo’.

The movie features popular faces such as veteran actress, Patience Ozokwo, Ayo Adesanya, Omowunmi Dada, Ken Erics, Christian Paul, among others. The movie is due for cinema release on Friday, April 7, 2017.
