There was pandemonium in the Majidun axis of Ikorodu community earlier today after a luxurious bus conveying passengers from the Eastern part of the country plunged into Majidun river.
During the ill-fated incident, three passengers were confirmed dead by the rescue officers of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) who rushed to the scene to tend to the victims.
It was gathered that the accident occurred around 4:30am while residents were still asleep and few others were using the usually busy Ikorodu Road.
According to the LASEMA boss, Mr. Tiamiyu Adesina who spoke on the incident, “the driver probably dis not understand the road very well, came to that junction and suddenly applied brake and of course he lost control and ran into the water.”
The incident led to a major traffic gridlock on the Ikorodu Road Due to the rush hour and the rescue operations by emergency officers.
