If recent developments are anything to go by, then Mainlanders as well as other Lagosians will elect officers to execute affairs at the council level in four months.
This development is as a result of the announcement by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, that the highly anticipated council elections will likely be conducted in June.
This according to residents is not unconnected to the pressures by opposition parties as well as other prominent individuals and civil societies who stressed the need to organize the polls.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ forum organized by the commission, the LASIEC Chairman, Justice Ayotunde Philips, revealed that the commission would ensure a free, fair and credible election during the polls.
You would recall that LASIEC toured the commission offices across the 57 LGs and LCDAs in the state few weeks ago ahead of the council polls.
