Breaking: Five PDP lawmakers defect to APC in Lagos Assembly

Five lawmakers elected under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the Lagos State House of Assembly have defected to the opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

The legislators moved camps today, February, 16, 2017, with their defection announced during a the seating which was monitored by the Speaker of the House, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

The lawmakers that defected include; Hon. Fatai Oluwa, Hon. Akeem Bello, Hon. Mosunmola Sangodara, Hon. Dayo Famakinwa, and Hon. Jude Idimogu.

The defection of the lawmakers was approved after their letters were all read during the Assembly seating by the acting clerk of the House, Mr. Sanni Azeez.

The news of the defection is however not shocking to some Mainlanders as it first surfaced across media platforms last week.

Following the defection,  the Speaker of the House, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa officially welcomed the new members from the PDP to APC.
