Yemisi Fancy’s #MyMainlandDiary: Just Joy!

I woke up this morning, browsed through my phone and the first thing I saw was a tweet from a radio station jamming my latest single ‘Oyari’. I continued to browse through my phone and the next thing I saw were confirmation pictures that our president is still alive.

These happenings, automatically threw me on the right side of the bed which I needed to give me the right spirit I need for the entire day. I then suddenly had this crave for Amala and ewedu soup which I had at noon at my favorite Amala spot.

Back to the first part of my day; my latest single ‘Oyari’ was officially released online less than two weeks ago. And thanks to you guys, the response has been amazing so far. My first single ‘Far Away’ which a lot of people loved was not an upbeat song so I was quite nervous about dropping this one. The question was whether ‘Oyari’ will be accepted considering it’s a complete shift from the first.

First, we hit 10k + streams on SoundCloud in 7 days which I will say was very impressive. People have sent me messages on how they really love the song. And I’m must confess, this is what most artiste love. It makes us want to do better, and a lot of times, it just keeps us going.

The song also hit the radio waves this week and it’s been amazing so far. I will love to thank everyone who has taken out time to stream, download and all the media houses who has supported and still supporting. And to my team, I’m super thankful. I will keep the fire burning and not disappoint you guys.

It’s Friday today and I’m sure a lot of us are thinking of having a great time since it’s like a public holiday tomorrow with the whole marathon thing. Considering that I can be an introvert by nature, my holiday starts this evening up until Sunday. I will just chill over a snack and a good movie.

Make sure you have some fun this weekend.

Drive safe.

TGIF (ThankGodImFancy).
