Ikorodu Oga Day Festival 2016 Ends In Style

The 2016 edition of the week-long annual Ikorodu Oga Day Festival ended amidst pomp and pageantry yesterday, November 19, 2016.

The grand finale of the annual festival which held at the Ayangbure  Palace Pavilion marked the celebration of the cultural heritage of Ikorodu community and honouring of distinctive sons and daughters of the community.

Consequently, the grand finale recorded the greatest honour awarded to the Asiwaju of Ikorodu, Asiwaju B.O. Benson (SAN), Hon Babajimi Benson, Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo, Adebutu Keshington (Baba Ijebu), Alhaja Tairat Agunbiade, Shakiru Adeleye of LTV among several others. The personalities were honoured for their outstanding and purposeful strides in their chosen careers.


Visitors and fun seekers were treated to good music from traditional troupes from different chieftaincy homes in Ikorodu. Among the performers were the Awopa Troupe, Oloro traditional singers, Woro Cultural group and many others.

Special Guests who graced the occasion include Oba Saheed Ademola, Hon. Muri Okunola, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, Lagos State Majority Leader, Prince Rotimi Ogunleye, among others.


You will recall that during the week-long event, more than 900 residents of Ikorodu benefited from the free medical check put together by the Lagos State Ministry of Health alongside the AMBSAM Foundation, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS) and the Eko Free Health Mission.
