Following a container truck breakdown at Odo – Iya Alaro end of the usually busy Ikorodu Road, there is currently a heavy traffic gridlock on the expressway. The incident InsideMainland learnt occurred in the early hours of this morning due to one of the tyres of the truck which busted on the expressway.
As a result of the rush hour, many motorists were held in the heavy gridlock. Currently, the officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, are at the scene to manage the situation and also ease free flow of traffic.
Speaking to InsideMainland, one of the traffic officers who preferred anonymity disclosed that “the truck will be towed off the road soon to ease traffic. We fear it might extend to other connecting routes of Ikorodu Road if urgent action is not taken.”
