As part of his empowerment plans for youths in Agege and its environs, Agege Chairmanship aspirant under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Rabiu Danjuma has flagged off a beauty pageant tagged as ‘Miss Ogba’ for members of his community.
The pageant sponsored by Hon. Rabiu Danjuma is scheduled to hold in January 2017 after the original date of 3rd December 2016 clashed with the set date for coronation in Agege community.
The beauty contest is primarily designed to promote the African beauty and cultural heritage. Contestants for this year’s event have been trimmed down to 48 from the pool of models who entered into the competition. The 48 models will enter into the final phase of the pageant.
The winner of the pagent gets a saloon car, an opportunity to contest at Miss Mumbaza International modelling event, an ambassadorial deal as the face of Ogba and lots of consolation prizes for other runner ups.
Speaking through the President of the Ogba United Foundation, OUF, Prince Ismail Anifowose, Hon. Danjuma said “this event is another way to showcase the beauty of Agege and the talents that abound in the community to the whole world.”
Hon. Danjuma who is also the CEO of Danjay Global Resources has been actively involved in community development and other developmental projects before he ventured into politics. In times past, he has doled out funds to members of the community to support youth empowerment and growth of the community.
