Leadway Assurance partners Total to sell 3rd party motor insurance at filling stations

Mainlanders and other Lagosians can now benefit from a new partnership agreement signed by two major brands who are market leaders in the business sector. The deal is part of the plans to ensure that Nigerians have easy access to insurance by Nigeria’s foremost and most trusted insurer, Leadway Assurance Company Ltd., and Total Nigeria Plc, a leading major marketer of refined petroleum products and services in Nigeria.

The partnership deal which aims to push further the frontier of Nigeria’s insurance industry penetration was signed at Total’s filling station, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja yesterday, Tuesday, August 30, 2016.

The Memorandum of  Understanding (MoU) signed by executives of Leadway Assurance and Total Nigeria Plc will see Leadway Assurance selling its insurance products and services at major stations of Total Nigeria Plc. Total has well over 500 petroleum product retail stations in Nigeria.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, MD/CEO Leadway Assurance Ltd., Mr. Oye Hassan-Odukale, disclosed that ” we are constantly seeking ways to make insurance products and services nearer, easily accessible and more convenient for our customers. This partnership is a way of ensuring insurance penetration and easy access by Nigerians on the go. In the first phase of this initiative, Leadway’s easy-to-use 3rd Party Motor Vehicle insurance recharge cards will go on sale at the designated outlets nationwide.”

He stressed further that, “the partnership with Total reinforces that quest to further take insurance closer to Nigerians, whilst affirming our commitment to superior service delivery. Indeed, with this partnership, our customers, who are also consumers of TOTAL’s array of products and services, would reduce their commuting time and cost to procure high value insurance products such as the motor insurance, at a single location.”

In his speech, Mr. Jean-Philippe Torres, MD, Total Nigeria PLC who was represented by the Territorial Sales Manager (North), Total Nigeria Plc, Mr. Muftau Balogun, said the company is honored to sign the agreement with Leadway because it makes Total Plc the first petrol outlet to offer such service in Nigeria: “We are proud of the partnership with Leadway Assurance, a dynamic organization, who shares our values of integrity, innovation, and superior service delivery. “With this partnership, our outlets will become the first in our industry to have insurance products and services offered at the convenience of our customers from our service stations. We have continued to expand our service operations beyond selling petroleum products by diversifying our activities to include other value offerings for customers such as bonjour for groceries shopping, Total Wash for car cleaning as well as Total Service for car repairs and maintenance. This partnership further illustrates Total service stations as Nigeria’s leading one-stopservice stations for everything that enriches the lives of our dear customers,” he added.
