Police parades kidnappers of Oniba of Iba land

The Lagos police command on Sunday August 7, 2016, paraded at the state house Ikeja the kidnappers of the Monarch, Oniba of Ibaland  who was kidnapped three weeks ago.

The two suspects, Toba Forejo and Isaiah Ododomu are both from Ondo State.  Ododomu was arrested in the boat while he was going to drop off the Monarch at Iba while Toba Ferejo was arrested at Iyana School area.

Narrating how they kidnapped the Oba,  Ododomu who was into bunkering said he turned to kidnapping after the business stopped booming. He said about nine of their gang members stormed the Oba’s palace on that fateful day with three pump action guns and two AK-47 rifle.

He disclosed that they first collected N12 million ransom and later demanded for another ransom and were given N3.1 million extra, making it a total of N15.1 million which they shared among themselves.

Speaking on the arrest, Governor Ambode said, “the arrest of these suspects is a clear warning to criminal elements that we value and cherish our Yoruba tradition and will leave no stone unturned to ensure that it is protected from violation by those who have desecrated our values”.
