Hon. Agunsoye visits Maryland Mall project in Mende, Maryland, gets security & traffic management plans

Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, a member, House of Representatives, Kosofe Federal Constituency on Saturday, November 14, 2015, visited the project site of the remodeled Maryland Mall, which will anchor tenants such as Shoprite and Genesis Deluxe Cinema in Mende, Maryland.

This was in fulfillment of his promise to take a comprehensive view of the proposed mall in an @InsideMainland tweetchat organized for Lagos residents to engage Purple Capital, the developers of the Mall.  

The Managing Partner of Purple Capital, Olaide Agboola, took Hon. Ogunsoye round the entire complex, explaining in details the security and most importantly, the traffic management plan. (Click to read about the traffic management plan)

Mr. Agboola revealed the project will be delivered in April 2016 ahead of the Easter cerebration. The lawmaker express satisfaction with the level of details in planning for the parking, traffic management and security for the mall to ensure that host residents and commuters enjoy the gains of the project within the Kosofe communities.

Participants had expressed fears during the tweetchat,  that having Shoprite, Africa’s largest consumer goods shopping mall in Mende, may exacerbate the traffic situation in area.

Specifically, the mall is situated along the Ikorodu Road, on a corner plot of land at the entrance to Okupe estate, Mende, which is a prime area of the busy Lagos Mainland axis. According to Purple Capital the new shopping center is conceived to cater to people in the busy vicinities of Mende, Anthony, Ilupeju, Ojota, GRA Ikeja, Oshodi, Gbagada Phase 1 and 2 among many others.

The mall will play host to a mix of local and international brands such as Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, Stanbic Bank, Axa Mansard, Barcelos, Sweet Kiwi, Euphoria Smoothies, Shuttles, Playzone, Cupyd Patisserie and 3 Zees Restaurant and Bar. Complementary Entertainment at the mall alongside Genesis Cinemas includes Playzone and the first ever purpose built skating rink in Nigeria, Skate City.
